Over the last few months, I've been noticing these beautiful woven wall hangings popping up all over the place. I didn't really know much about them or where they came from, so I did a bit of internet research and eventually stumbled upon the website for Native Line. Creator Justine Ashbee uses a floor loom to weave together gold and silver wire with a variety of other fibers, pulling inspiration from the Navajo and even ancient Egyptians. Ashbee says, “Weaving is one of the oldest technologies we have. To be engaged with this practice feels, to me, to be a magical thing”.
